Can I import a BOM from SolidWorks or another CAD system?
Yes, as an exported spreadsheet. The Import BOM wizard reads CSV, XLSX, XLSM and XLS files, so a BOM exported from SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, Creo, Altium or KiCad can be imported. AssembleFlow does not open CAD files directly. You check the column mapping before anything is saved, and part numbers are kept exactly as written in your file.
Does AssembleFlow add up quantities of repeated subassemblies?
No. Qty per machine is a value per row, and the only multiplier is the number of machines in the project. If a subassembly with 5 screws is used 8 times, export the BOM from your CAD system as a "Parts only" (or flat) BOM, which already lists each part once with its total quantity (40 screws), and import that file.
If the same part is used in several assemblies, is it combined on one purchase order line?
No. Quote request and purchase order lines are made per Parts List row, so the same part can appear on several lines. Stock is the exception: when one stock item matches several rows, the available quantity is shared between them, and the Stock tab shows the total required.
How do I create purchase orders?
From the Purchase Orders tab: one purchase order per supplier and purchase type, made from the parts list, with PDF export, email and a supplier link for online confirmation. The Order List shows every order of the project with its number, date, value, supplier and status.
How do I record a partial delivery?
Open the order on the Order List and use Receive on the line. Enter the quantity that arrived, the date and a note such as the delivery note number. If you ordered 40 and 28 arrived, the line shows 28 received and 12 outstanding and stays "Partly received" until the rest arrives. A line can be received in several lots, and the order changes to Received by itself when every line is complete.
How do I record a shortage, a wrong item, or damaged or rejected parts?
Use Issues on the order line. Choose Shortage, Wrong item, Damaged or Rejected, and enter the number of pieces, the date found and details. Mark the issue settled when it has been dealt with, for example when a replacement arrives or a credit note is received. A replacement is recorded as a normal receipt. AssembleFlow does not send messages to the supplier or run a returns or credit-note workflow.
Can I attach delivery notes and certificates?
Yes. On each order line, Documents lets you attach a delivery note, material certificate, certificate of conformity, inspection report or other document, with an optional note such as a certificate number. PDF or pictures, up to 10 MB each and 10 per line. Files are stored privately with the project.
Can I export orders to my accounting software?
Yes. The Order List exports to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent or a generic CSV.
Can I see the price history of a part?
Not at the moment. Each order keeps its own value and the Order List keeps every order of the project, but there is no price history per part across orders or projects.
